HR DEVELOPMENT

Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences human resources development strategy is focused on promoting the professional development of employees and improving the abilities of all our employees, including academic and general staff. Realizing that the success of the university is closely related to the quality of human resources, we create a supportive work environment that promotes innovation, cooperation and continuous development.

Our goal is to provide employees with the tools and resources they need to develop both professional and academic skills. We offer professional development courses, management skills development, international experience opportunities and flexible working conditions that help balance work with personal growth. In 2025, we will launch a mentor and academic career development program that will help every academic staff member to build their career even more successfully. Attention is also paid to attracting and retaining talent - we invite talented and motivated professionals who share similar values and want to contribute to the growth of the university to join. By offering career development opportunities and an environment that inspires excellence, we foster long-term relationships with our employees. Compliance with ethical and professional standards, as well as a fair and transparent selection of researchers, which ensures stable working conditions and a balance between work and private life, is essential to our approach.

Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences starts participating in the European Human Resources Development Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) in order to improve the working conditions and career opportunities of researchers, based on the European Charter for Researchers and a Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. With this initiative, we are strengthening the European Research Area, while providing opportunities for researchers to build a successful and sustainable career at our university.
